Outlandish Tax Assesments

Has your home been assessed way to high? Mine has and I know many others are in the same boat by looking at the numbers on the Allen County Assessors Web site. Looking for advice about how to properly and successfully make my appeal.

Need help!!!!!!!: finding comparables, understanding property record card better, accurately calculating square footage according to legal guidelines, better understanding of appeal process, organizing property...

Australia ahead of the curve

It appears Australia's school system has seen the light. Instead of teaching the 'controversy' as many people in the U.S. advocate, Victoria's primary school children will be taught that no evidence for god exists. It's a shame that such a course even needs to be taught, but it's a wonderful step towards rationality.

Skandar Keynes, the young actor who plays Edmund Pevensie in "Prince Caspian" (out today), is not only a self-described atheist, but the great-great-great grandson of Charles Darwin himself.

The New York Times is carrying a story about a soldier in Iraq who organized an atheist and freethought meeting and was berated by a superior for doing so. The soldier was eventually sent home due to threats against him.
