I think that we need to have a more formalized structure in place before we start charging dues. Specifically, we should have a charter or constitution.
Before we begin that process, we need some type of established leadership. I propose the following:

- Two temporary caretakers to see us through the charter/constitution process. Why two instead of just one? For backup and a check-and-balance system, however rudimentary. With so many new members, I'm thinking a vote at this point would be a little arbitrary. From what I've seen so far, just about any of us is more than competent enough to lead this thing. Not to diminish anyone else's contributions, but two acts of initiative stand out in my mind - the cable access show and the .org website. Therefore, I propose that Andy and Jeremy (skeptigator) be appointed temporary caretakers of FreeThought Fort Wayne. For the sake of simplicity and clarity, all ideas, request, etc. should be routed through these two individuals until we establish a charter and elect 'permanent' leadership. Even if your answer is a simple "aye" or nay", please, everyone (especially Andy and Jeremy) make your opinion known on this thread.
- This is a recurring theme with me, but I don't think we need or would be best served to reinvent the wheel as it pertains to constitutions or charters. I will be seeking out existing documents from similar groups, and posting them in a new constitution forum. However, we need to hear from everyone in regards to what you expect from this group, even if it's just a general or rough idea, so please post in the new forum - which should be up in the next day or two. (Please be patient)
