I think we're small enough that we can just use secret ballots. Just a slip of paper listing the offices with the people running for that each office
underneath along with a box to place a check mark next to each name. Perhaps another item for ratification of the constitution. All ballots go into a box. When
voting is done, the secretary pulls the ballots and counts them right there. For example:
Vote to ratify the proposed constitution [ ] Yay [ ] Nay President [ ] Candidate 1 [ ] Candidate 2 Vice-President [ ] Candidate 1 [ ] Candidate 2 Treasurer [ ] Candidate 1 [ ] Candidate 2 Secretary [ ] Candidate 1 [ ] Candidate 2 |

If anyone want to run for an office position, use this topic post to let everyone know. It will be easier in January if we have an idea of who is running for
what.
I'm running for treasurer. My slogan is "Duh, I've got the checks". |

I would like to run for the office of secretary, but I was still unsure about Andy's stipulation that officers have to be out. Do we have to have first and
last names?
If I can just be listed as Tom B. I would still like to run. |

Do we have to have first and last names?I thought we eventually decided that just the President had to be 'out'. If that's not the case, hopefully Andy (or someone) will correct me and chime-in with their thoughts. As your situation illustrates, if all officers have to be 'out' I think we'll have trouble getting the positions filled. Speaking of filling offices, I'm throwing my hat in the ring to run for the Office of the President. neuralgourmet wrote:The way things are shaping up, it might be more precise to say 'I think we're small enough that we may not need secret ballots'. So far, only three people have declared their intention to run. If anyone else is interested in running for an office, please speak up, soon! The election is three days away. |
